Volunteers are valued as critical partners who share in our mission to end homelessness one life at a time, enabling program success through collaboration with staff and residents.

Volunteers are intimately woven into the fabric of Cathedral Center’s mission, vision, and services, working alongside staff as champions for the homeless women and families we serve.

Volunteers are an integral part of our services and bring much life to our shelter environment. From 9am-8pm each day, volunteers work to enhance our programs and serve our residents.

Last year over 1600 volunteers impacted our mission! Join us!

Reception Volunteer

Each day here is a little different and there is always something to do. Our reception volunteers are the calm in the storm to keep us afloat when the phone rings, visitors check in, and clients need assistance. Reception Volunteers also assist guests and staff with various tasks. This 2-3 hour, weekly commitment Monday – Friday, between 9-5 is great for anyone who enjoys welcoming others, is friendly and good with people, comfortable in a secretarial role, and able to handle varying requests. Shelter Aid

Shelter Aids work diligently to respond to client requests, restock supplies, and support our shelter environment. A typical shift may include anything from storing donations and helping clients move in and out of shelter, to laundry and setting up games and homework supplies. Shelter aids interact with all residents in a positive way. This 2 hour weekly commitment between 4:00pm-8:00pm is great for adults with a passion for our mission and especially students in social services. This is an individual opportunity for someone who is compassionate, outgoing, takes initiative, and can commit to two semesters (seasons). Read more.
