The 10th Annual Empowerment Challenge in 2025 has come to a successful conclusion, and we are thrilled with the results of our fundraising efforts. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community donors and the matching contributions from Peter Geisert and The William N. and Janice V. Godfrey Family Foundation, we raised a total of $53,806! These funds are vital in helping the women and families we serve to maintain stability and transition to safe, permanent housing.
The Empowerment Challenge is an online-focused appeal that kicks off our fundraising efforts each year. It is a time to showcase how donations directly empower women and families by supporting our services and the specific ways they make a tangible impact.
As our mission centers on women and families, it’s no coincidence that the Empowerment Challenge takes place during Women’s History Month and concludes on International Women’s Day. This year, social media posts emphasized the importance of female leadership at The Cathedral Center, featuring videos of Donna Rongholt-Migan, CCI’s Executive Director, discussing the significant role of women in leadership positions and the positive influence it has on our guests and clients.
We also shared inspiring quotes from our staff, highlighting how all proceeds directly impact the women and families we serve, supporting expenses such as rent, security deposits, transportation, and items needed to return to their own homes.
Overall, the Empowerment Challenge was a resounding success! We surpassed our fundraising target and fully utilized the matching donations from The Godfrey Family Foundation Trust and The Peter Geisert Giving Trust. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed. Your generosity fuels our mission and enables us to continue our fight to end homelessness, one life at a time. We look forward to what the rest of the year has in store!
