Celebrating New Beginnings at Cathedral Center

new beginnings

At The Cathedral Center, we witness the impact of our community’s unwavering support every day. At the start of the year, multiple individuals and families staying in our Emergency Shelter achieved meaningful new beginnings and are now moving forward with safety, stability, and hope.

One mother arrived at our shelter newly pregnant and with four children. She worked closely with her case manager to identify her goals and create a plan to secure safe housing. With this clear path forward, she was better equipped to address the barriers she faced. Within a week, she was connected to W-2 resources and secured safe placement. When she left our shelter, she not only had peace of mind and confidence in her next steps, but also new baby items to help welcome her little one.

Another family—two adults and two children—arrived at the shelter after experiencing job and housing instability. While staying with us, the adults engaged in Cathedral Center’s Employment Services Program, utilizing resources such as job readiness training and employment workshops. Through their dedication and hard work, the family secured employment and, within just 30 days, they moved into safe, stable housing.

The final new beginning we want to highlight is that of another expecting mother. Facing employment and housing barriers, she created an Individualized Plan for Independence with her case manager to overcome these challenges. With a strong plan and a renewed sense of purpose, she reunited with her oldest son, increased her income through employment, and secured safe housing within 90 days. We were honored to support her with essential newborn items, including a car seat and stroller, generously donated by our community.

These milestones reflect the successes we see every day across Cathedral Center’s programs—successes that empower individuals and families to grow stronger and find stability. They are only possible because of you: our donors, partners, and supporters. Your contributions, in-kind gifts, and volunteer hours allow us to meet clients where they are, walk alongside them with dignity, and address immediate needs while building pathways to long-term stability.

You can empower women and families to achieve milestones like these by donating or volunteering with us!
